Grove completes third kindergarten for Brimbank City Council

Grove has successfully completed the new 66-place St Albans Kindergarten for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and Brimbank City Council, continuing its strong track record of delivering high-quality modular early learning facilities across Victoria.

The project marks the third kindergarten Grove has delivered in partnership with Brimbank City Council, reinforcing a collaborative approach focused on providing modern, purpose-built spaces that support growing communities.

The kindergarten was manufactured off site over four weeks using 14 modular units before being transported to site for installation. Despite the challenges of narrow residential streets and overhead power lines, the building was successfully delivered and installed over three days through careful planning and coordination.

From site possession to handover, the entire project was completed in just five months.

Beyond the new kindergarten itself, Grove delivered a comprehensive scope of works to transform the site and surrounding area. This included the removal of the existing community playground, demolition of the former kindergarten following completion of the new facility, and the design and construction of a new 10-space car park within the adjoining council roadway.

The project also required a carefully considered design solution to accommodate an existing sewer easement that could not be relocated, ensuring the new facility integrated seamlessly within the site’s existing constraints.

The completed kindergarten features two sets of external stairs, one at the main entrance and another providing access from the rear playground, creating safe and functional access for staff, children and families.

By combining off-site manufacturing with efficient on-site construction, Grove was able to minimise disruption while maintaining the high quality, safety and certainty expected of critical education infrastructure projects.

As one of Australia’s leading privately owned modular construction companies, Grove continues to partner with government and local councils to deliver sustainable, high-quality education facilities that meet the evolving needs of communities.
